Every year, GDN awards up to $US 90,000 worth of grants to research proposals and innovative development projects as part of the Global Development Awards Competition. The deadline for submitting the proposals is 15 January, 2016.

Zvi Griliches Award

Zvi Griliches had a great affection for Russia, for the Russian people and culture. In the last 10 years of his life he became deeply involved in the reform of economic education in Russia. Zvi was among the founding fathers of the New Economic School in Moscow. He taught at the School, was a member of its International Advisory Board, played an active role in placement of NES graduates in the best Ph.D. programs in the US. His involvement with the EERC began in 1995, when he attended the very first meeting of donors and academics at which the idea of creating the Consortium was elaborated for the first time.
